Hub/Art is happy to announce the collaboration for the second year with the association Yarn Bombing Trivento for the organisation of the Yarn Bombing Festival in Milan.

The event is organised in collaboration with Associazione Culturale Formidabile Lambrate, Associazione Made in Lambrate, Scalo Lambrate and McVector Ltd under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and Municipio 3.

The second edition of the Yarn Bombing Festival Milano, an event entirely dedicated to crocheted works of art, will start from Piazza delle Rimembranze (aka Viale delle Rimembranze), which unites the north and south of the Lambrate district and then branch out along Via Conte Rosso, Via Ventura and Via Massimiano, from 10 to 12 June 2022.
The choice to inaugurate on that weekend is not accidental.
June 11 is World Yarn Bombing Day, a time when all over the world artists and amateurs of this artistic practice share their works in public places and make them go viral on social networks using the hastag #worldyarnbombingday.

After the success of the first edition, it was decided to replicate the Festival by making it a moment of meeting and sharing in the Lambrate district.
Also this year, the Yarn Bombing Festival will be part of the programme of cultural and educational events promoted by Scalo Lambrate.

For the second edition of the Festival, an open call was launched inviting all crochet artists to share their work.
The organisers of the event then selected the most deserving works that will thus invade the streets, courtyards and parks of the neighbourhood. More than 80 new pieces from different parts of the world will be added to some of the works exhibited during the first edition of the festival.

Among the installations, there will also be a collective work entitled ” There wasn’t once”, made up of small games and symbols recalling the world of childhood, aimed at expressing solidarity and closeness to all children in situations of hardship.

The non-profit event was organised to support the solidarity projects of Every Child Is My Child, a spontaneous association of artists who, called upon by Anna Foglietta, have decided to use their popularity to support and give media prominence to initiatives in support of childhood.
The works exhibited will be put on sale for this purpose and the proceeds will go to all those children who are forced to live in conditions of deep hardship due to wars, disasters, poverty, marginalisation and illness.

To complete the event, a schedule of workshops aimed at all those who want to approach the art of crochet and those who are already crocheters and want to discover a new way of understanding classic crochet.

The courses will be held at Acli Milano Lambrate, in Via Conte Rosso n. 5 and the materials will be provided by the sponsors: Katia Yarn, Prym and Dooitu.
Registration will be possible by accessing Eventbrite: https://rb.gy/qzhcnd
