Rebecca Louise Law is a British artist, best known for artworks created with natural materials, namely flora. The physicality and sensuality of her work play with the relationship between humanity and nature. Law is passionate about natural change and preservation, allowing her work to evolve as nature takes its course and offering an alternative concept of beauty.

Rebecca Louise Law is also one of the key figures of Parma Capital of Culture 2020. For the occasion, the artist has conceived a series of works located in historic places of the city: the heart of the exhibition is the large installation designed specifically for the central space of the Church of San Tiburzio, consisting of 200 thousand flowers, as many as the citizens living in Parma: a strong message of inclusion and hope for rebirth.

The itinerary continues with the presentation of various sculptural apparatus set up at the Archives of the Congregation of the Ancient Pharmacy, while the greenhouse of the Botanical Garden of Parma houses a documentary work on the artist’s practice.

Preserving, treasuring, celebrating and sharing the beauty of Earth is what drives me.
