The exhibition "Verba volant, design manent" opens on Thursday October 5 at the  HUB/ART exhibition space. It is a selection of iconic products that over the years have traced the history of the Nava Design and MH Way brands. It will be run until October 24.

On the occasion of Milano Fall Design Week 2017, HUB/ART decided to interpret the spirit of celebration of the autumn event, dedicating its space to two Milanese excellences, whose collections have made the history of Italian and international design.

The setting was designed with an exhibition narrative in mind that traces the chronological evolution of the two brands, highlighting the changes that the products have undergone to adapt to the needs of society.
Nava Design and MH Way are two Milanese companies born respectively in the 70s and 80s that resemble, confront and differentiate each other, each with its own values and its own loyal public, but with behind them a path of “parallel convergences” that led them to look even more closely after the recent acquisition of both by the group GUT – Smemoranda.

Reflection on the history of the two realities and on the consolidation of their brands is suggested right from the title chosen.

Verba Volant, Design Manent plays on a contrast between past and future, between the history of design and the “youth” of the same discipline.

Words fly but design, as the etymology of the term suggests, identifies paths of knowledge and selects aesthetic values that are consolidated over time and remain.
HUB/ART, Nava Design and MH Way are now located in the south of Milan, an area in strong expansion known for the presence of spaces dedicated to contemporary art, such as Fondazione Prada, and important names related to the world of fashion such as Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Jil Sander and Chloé.
Through the most significant objects of the two brands, including for example the “Columbia” diary by Ettore Sottsass, the “Milano” bag by Naoto Fukasawa, the “Piuma” drawing board or the first “Impronta” thermoformed backpack by Makio Hasuike, it will be possible to read a part of the world of design from the 1970s to the present day.
The event will be the preview of a wider and more detailed exhibition that will see, in 2020, Nava Design as the protagonist and the celebration of its 50 years of history. Naoto Fukasawa and Makio Hasuike will be present at the opening evening.
