With the exhibition “Interface”, hosted at Hub/Art in 2019, Tentolini displays a series of works developed on the concept of stratification.
His work starts with photography, in other words the amount of light imprinted on the photographic plate or digital sensor.
From here he starts the work of “translating” the light onto the canvas using semi-transparent materials, overlapping or eliminating them to give depth to the stroke. By layering the wire mesh he creates images of faces and figures from classical antiquity without ever using pigments but simply overlaying the material.

THE ARTIST
Giorgio Tentolini was born in Casalmaggiore (Cremona) in 1978. He studied graphic arts and graduated in design and communication at the University of Reggio Emilia. Each of his works stems from a precise investigation into Time as memory and identity, in a careful and slow reconstruction that takes place with the study of light and the engraving of layers of different materials, fabrics, papers, PVC, metal nets.Winner of the Nocivelli Prize in 2012, the Rigamonti Prize in the Visual Arts Award organised by the San Fedele Foundation in Milan, the First Absolute Prize at Paratissima Torino 2015 and the Arteam Cup Special Prize 2016, Tentolini has exhibited in London, Berlin, Amsterdam, the Principality of Monaco, at the Palazzo Reale in Milan, the MAR Art Museum in Ravenna and the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile in Turin.
